Pros

Most of management is extremely professional and very nice. Pleasant work atmosphere. Most coworkers are hard workers and know how to treat customers well. The merchandise is great. You are given mostly free reign to merchandise. The fixtures are very nice and add a high-end look to the store. They are very forgiving if you need to leave due to a family emergency, etc.

Cons

Management is never on the same page. The pay is horrible. The yearly pay raises are so sad that they are laughable. Safety is a joke. Loss prevention is nonexistent. You are expected to know how to do every job in the store. If you work hard and care about the quality of the job that you do, expect to be extremely insulted by a few of your coworkers abilities or lack thereof yet they keep them! Every job is timed yet come evaluation time it gets one no where to get the job done well and quickly.

Pros

I really wish I could think of one, to give a balanced review. But I keep looking at the whole experience from a customer's point of view and therefore can't think of one pro.

Cons

The work is very hard and you feel like a horse or robot. You're pushed very hard. The morale was less like a job and more like a prison. There seemed to be more focus on pushing credit cards than providing great customer service. The furniture would practically fall apart right off the truck. So much of it had to be trashed before it even made it to the floor. None of it was real wood. When bad nicks or damage was on a piece a marker was used to cover it up. Some stuff was sent out to the floor with concealed structural damage. These practices weren't store specific. Very shady company.

Pros

Flexible schedule and friendly associates.

Cons

Management does not communicate with one another or other associates. Store management does not communicate needs to corporate level management and when they do corporate does not listen. Employees are given far too many tasks and hard working employees are expected to make up for the incompetence of the lazy ones. Low pay with awful raise schedule. Management makes even simple tasks out to be a large challenge and spends more time complaining and planning rather than just getting it done.
