Pros

Great coworkers. Excellent benefits. Work is fairly easy to accomplish once you get a hold of things.

Cons

Company was in transition and did not have a concrete training program setup when i was hired. Lots of little things add up to be annoying. Company policy is not consistently enforced depending on the manager. Phone queue policy should be changed to allow lower call volume employees to not be disrupted by calls that aren't for them. Workload can get high at times based on client needs. Salary is OK on paper but gets lower after taxes, benefits, and 401k comes out. No cost of living adjustment for travel time.

Pros

Used to be a great place to work, with lots of intelligent people committed to good software development. Used to be a place where you could learn a lot. Used to be a place where you were evaluated on the basis of your merits, not your ability to play dirty small-time political games.

Cons

Homenet under Cox Auto has lost its way. Career managers with no track record have been brought in to put down innovation and praise mediocre results and "team work." Cronyism and nepotism abound. If you want a "big corporate" atmosphere where you can work 9-5 and watch your skills completely stagnate, but have good pay and job security, Homenet is a great place to work. If you want to play politics, and climb the corporate ladder, and achieve meaningless "success" (and be part of what promises to be a catastrophic failure), Homenet is a great place. If you have any professional pride or interest in self-improvement, steer clear.
