Rash Decisions and Sexist Work Environment

Pros

My team members are great and hardworking people. That's the only saving grace

Cons

I work for Homes and the best way to describe the work environment is that upper management does not care and there is no company direction. They are sexist and short sighted. They “say” that there is an open door policy, and there won’t be any retaliation, but the truth is far from it. Nothing is confidential if you know the right people

At Homes.com we’re committed to creating a transparent and collaborative work environment and we encourage all team members to help us reach this goal by making use of our open door policy. We strongly encourage all employees to express any concerns along with areas of improvement to their managers. If you feel uncomfortable approaching a specific manager, please reach out to another manager in your reporting structure. If you are not comfortable speaking with a manager at Homes.com, you are also welcome to express any concerns you have with our parent company, Dominion Enterprises at the email address and/or phone numbers listed on Ask4HR.com.

Pros

guaranteed $12 an hour in a commission based sales job. Good Benefits Paid time off after 90 days

Cons

Where to even begin... The commission structure is terrible. only top 5% of Reps can make a living here. Only 2 of them make a consistent paycheck The product they sell with the exception of SEO is garbage. They make untrue claims and almost every client you get will want to cancel The turnover rate is unbelievable Managers pick who get the leads. So if you aren't on the top of the friends list.... sorry about your luck. Back to cold calling all day. I could go on for hours so I'll stop here.

Thank you for the feedback. Homes.com has an open door policy and, I'd like to invite you to visit with me personally to discuss your concerns if you feel you have not been heard by your management team. Additionally, we have an internal Ideas email that any team member can use to express their ideas. Many of those ideas have been implemented. With that said, allow me to address the issues you raised in this forum. Our incentives are designed to reward activity and results, and we are proud of the competitive incomes our sales representatives earn. Like any sales position, it takes commitment and activity to generate the highest income. In terms of the leads we provide to our sales representatives, we work hard through effective marketing to generate leads. Leads are not provided based on a "friends list" and we have, in fact, tested many different methods for supplying leads based on employee feedback we've gathered. Our SEO Fuel product is top-notch. I'm glad you agree. We offer many competitively priced solutions for our customers to get in front of a targeted audience and more effectively run their businesses. Are we the best fit for every customer? Maybe not, but we have countless testimonials from customers, some of whom have been loyal to us for many years. In fact, the customer "turnover" that you mention is at an all-time low as we continue to focus on delighting our customers. Again, I hope you'll take me up on the opportunity to discuss these concerns in person. Erin Ruane, Vice President of Sales

Pros

Easy work, not a lot to. Most of the time we do not have to quality check any work. Nice easy paycheck.

Cons

Managers are on power trip and most of them do not think about the business. Super low pay - not worth it. Get another job

Homes.com has an Open Door policy, where we strongly encourage employees to share concerns and opportunities for improvement with company management. If there is ever an issue with a particular manager, then I ask that you please seek out another manager in your reporting structure or reach out to me directly. I would welcome the chance to talk through this with you. In terms of the description of an "IT job leading to nothing," I have to admit that I don't see this very often at Homes.com. In fact, we have had numerous promotions from within our IT department this year, with several in just the past few weeks. I encourage employees to please help us get better and address any workplace issues in a transparent and collaborative way. -David Mele, President, Homes.com
