Pros

Best reasons to work here: the other employees are hands down the greatest people to work with. The is the idea of freedom especially when you are out in the field as you are free to arrange your daily schedule as you would like. pay is better then most medical offices in the state but there is more work to go along with it. Always overtime available to those who would like it. Benefits are good, nothing special the regular medical and dental that you pay out of your check for. 401k etc.

Cons

Cons are that you have no support from management when you are out in the field. To reach anyone you call into the office and most times have to wait for someone to call you back. Presents a big issue when sitting with a patient waiting on a call back. Tough to plan anything outside of work unless you are making plans for the same day as you don't know where you will be working or what time exactly you will get out of work. IE if you make plans for dinner at 5pm knowing you get out off work at 430 it should be fine, BUT you could be ending your day on the opposite side of the state. No real advancement inside the company and no support for schooling.

Pros

The patients and their families are amazing. You will be gifted with deeply moving care provision daily.

Cons

The management teams from upper to middle do not understand the dramatic differences between the home care teams and the inpatient unit staff. This makes for confusing and unspecified expectations of staff and reduced patient/family satisfaction. Not to mention the RNs and Aids (the hardest working people in health care) are basically left to fend for themselves. NO SUPPORT provided.

Pros

The wages and benefit package was outstanding, and the management and fellow staff were very understanding and caring.

Cons

Since Hospice cares for End-of-Life patients the subject of death and dying is always there
