We appreciate you caring for Houston Methodist patients as a Social Worker and are glad you found our total rewards program to be a plus. We understand that managing urgent cases and maintaining work-life balance can be challenging. Our employees are our greatest resource, so we continually look for ways to better support team members based on their feedback.

Pros

You do gain a better understanding of insurance verification, administration and customer service. Not as hands on with direct patient care, more of handling the smaller things like contacting insurance providers, handling phone calls, making schedules, and ensuring the safety of our patients

Cons

Can become stagnant and not give much wiggle room for growth unless you have access to knowing someone in a different department. Deal with a lot of phone calls so be prepared to converse with either insurance providers, other clinics that don’t involve the company, and patients as well.

Thanks for assisting patients at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. Houston Methodist provides resources for employees to proactively map their career journeys. Go to The Hub and search for Career Central to get started. You'll find resume and interview support, mentorship opportunities and informative workshops.
