Pros

Nice offices, big ideas and some good people.

Cons

Grown too big, too quickly and lack the back-office functionality to support the sales process, at least in my area, which was EB corporate consulting. Didn't understand what we do when they bought us and still didn't when I left. Profess to be a people first company, but that's the usual corporate BS. If you're thinking of joining my old team, take a lifejacket and keep a sharp eye out for the approaching iceberg!

Pros

Was presented as an interesting piece of work in interviews, thought of working in an ‘insure tech’ was attractive.

Cons

Became quite obvious there wasn’t much of a plan and the company focuses on messaging and presentation. Proposals to fix issues fell on deaf ears because did not fit with the messaging. Bizarre culture where nobody dares speak up, like stepping back to the 1980s.

Pros

Good for young people, usually employ young people you can mix with. Everyone has been really helpful and will always be willing to help.

Cons

Not a lot of options for progression. An industry very male dominated. Only 45mins lunch break, sick pay not paid.

Thank you for your comments around the mix and helpfulness of the team. The comments around progression are difficult to understand given we have significant growth opportunities in all regions and all parts of our business (Commercial, Rural, High Net Worth, Personal Lines, Functions). These are advertised internally and we encourage individuals to participate in our regular talent assessments if they wish to progress. The industry is male dominated but within A-Plan we have a good split of male:female at Branch Advisor level and significant female representation at Board and Senior leadership levels. Just to provide some clarity on your last point - company sick pay is at management discretion as opposed to "not paid." Do speak to your Branch Manager if you have any queries around any of the points raised.
