Sales Positions Should be Called "Creative Outreach Rep"

Pros

Dogs in the office, food, beer, lots of young employees (feels like college)

Cons

The Business Development role and Inbound Growth Specialist role are more so a "creative outreach role." Almost all training revolves around just getting someone on the phone. The best performing BDR's were promised a promotion in 10 months but it really ends up being at least 13. I don't think the product was that good and Corporate Sales is a failing segment. DO NOT work in the corporate segment at HubSpot.

Sorry to hear that your time at HubSpot was less stellar than you expected--you're right that for many folks it ends up being 12 months to a promotion, so we've worked to set better expectations there up front in the recruitment process. With that said, our BDR program has a ton of learning and coaching opportunities that we believe really help serve as a catalyst for a career in sales at HubSpot and beyond, so I would push back a bit that our BDR program is simply around outreach. Nonetheless, I appreciate the feedback-we'll use it as we always do to improve and grow our experience and expectation-setting for BDRs coming in. Sincerely, Katie

Pros

Holly, the recruiter I worked with, was absolutely amazing! She went above and beyond throughout my interview process and was very helpful. I also loved training. We were asked to do a new hire project which was challenging but it got me comfortable with HubSpot's tools and solutions. Product training and the new hire project were my favorite parts of training. I have been with the company for a few months now and I love what I sell, I have a supportive/knowledgeable manger, and I love the people I work with. I feel like I have the tools/resources to effectively do my job and hit my number.

Cons

I can't think of any!

I'm so glad to hear you loved working with Holly in recruiting and that you feel the experience you signed up for has been delivered upon since you started. We do indeed really care about our people, so I am over the moon that you feel that way--we'll keep working to make you proud you made the choice to join us! Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. Sincerely, Katie

Pros

It took me three tries to get a job here - totally worth it. Now that I'm here, I can see why the interview process is so selective - literally EVERY single individual is hyper focused on their work and passionate about what they do. Awesome office, fun benefits #somuchswag

Cons

Pressure to work late a lot - can't remember the last time I only worked 40 hours in a week. Not pressure from HubSpot - but because all of your coworkers work a ton, it feels like you need to too.

Over the moon that you're loving life on the marketing team, thanks for the feedback! And so glad you're getting swag but also the opportunity to work with great people and on high-impact things with great benefits, it sounds like it was worth the wait! With that said, we want folks to take breaks and relax and recharge, so I hope that you'll find better balance this summer--we are trying to set a strong tone at the top of this issue, so I'm hoping we can help folks find better balance in doing so. Thanks again for the review! -Katie
