Pros

The culture at Hudl is stellar. Where most companies list off a few generic values and leave it at that, Hudl truly lives out their values. Leadership feels approachable. The company invests in their employees, providing many opportunities and avenues for professional and personal growth. The benefits are terrific, and we're encouraged to actually take advantage of them. The work is flexible

Cons

My main complaint is that the pay is low compared to similar companies. For me, the pros more than outweigh this con, but it can be a bit disappointing to look around and realize I could be making much better money working elsewhere. I would also like to see the company become more diverse. There are big diversity goals, and I have seen gains made in that realm, but we have a ways to go still.

Pros

- In office culture is 10/10. People actually want to be here. A rare find for those from more traditional corporate environments. - It is a tech company, so better industry standards are upheld far better than other companies here locally. Lots to learn. - Free buffet lunch. Food is usually very good. 2pm free snacks, also good. - Fun happy hours. - Engineers are given a strong voice when discussing product concerns. We arn't just feature factories - Teams are centered around targeted markets not skillsets. For example, you may be a C#/React developer but if the market your team is working on requires work to be done in iOS app or Rust app, then you're expected to pick up some ObjC, Swift, Rust, etc. A pro or con depending on your perspective. For me, its both. - PTO is very relaxed. - Changing teams is not uncommon. If you feel like you'd be more interested in a different kind of work, good shot you can request a team change. I've seen that happen fair couple of times.

Cons

- I would personally rather that HQ was in Omaha, rather than Lincoln. Lincoln being a college town can get a bit old... - They have a very established connection with the Raikes program at UNL. They will source much of their junior engineers from here if they can, and they do have a strong preference to those students. Can be harder to a) get in, and harder to b) get a more equitable salary if you are not a Raikes grad. - Pay is lower than other tech companies, even possibly than others in Nebraska.
