Pros

The work itself is straightforward and the onboarding is decent. Work from home is good.

Cons

The screen time is really not funny. I mean, sitting in front of a screen for hours and hours without taking a break and not even thinking about how it affects our health. After a while our eyes and body start to feel the effects. We are just supposed to keep going and going. I do not get holidays during Dussehra or Diwali. Everyone has to work through these festivals no what is going on at home or with our families. For a company that operates in India this says a lot about how the company values its employees the screen time and work load of employees. It is very hard to get leave approved during peak season. The company talks about work-life balance when they are hiring us. After we join we do not hear much about it. The screen time is still an issue. When the management makes decisions the analysts have to deal with the problems that come from those decisions. This means pressure and more tasks, but our salary stays the same. The screen time and workload of analysts increase. You are expected to complete as many tasks as possible. The company benefits from the output. You just get tired. This kind of work environment exists because the job market is very competitive now. When we do not have a lot of options we put up with things that we should not have to deal with. The company knows this. That is why they have this kind of structure in place, which includes a lot of screen time. The job does not sound so bad when we read about it.. The reality of working there every day slowly starts to affect our health, our time and our energy. If those things are important, to us we should think carefully before we accept the job and consider the screen time and work load.

Pros

- Unlimited holiday truly holds up. - Free office lunches. - Nice engineers & cross-functional team members. - Actually a good work life balance, rarely work past 5.30/6pm and people don’t tend to start until 9am at the earliest. - Interesting industry if you enjoy sports.

Cons

- Far too acquisition-heavy. Leads to a very reactive way of working, suddenly needing to pivot to integrating a new system. There’s no plan. - We never stop to evaluate whether what we’re building is even being used, let alone do enough research before committing weeks towards a new feature. - Completely project-based; if you’re looking for somewhere to be more product-minded, it’s not really here. - We spend a lot of effort building for specific customers (who we aren’t even sure will use/commit to the new feature). - Very difficult to get promotion. - Mediocre salary for industry standards. - Parental benefits only focus on getting pregnant rather than post-baby care.
