Pros

I have held positions across the company for 13 years, and I found the pay to be fair, overall. In my experience, job satisfaction depends a lot on your leader, and the leaders above them. I was blessed to leave when I had a wonderful leader. I got really nice performance bonuses the last few years, which I appreciated. The benefits were excellent. Anyway, I left on a good note but have to consider some of my past leaders - so I gave 4 stars.

Cons

There were roles where the leader was a micromanager and caused a lot of stress in the workplace. On a different note, the cost (and high deductible) of health insurance was higher than I thought was reasonable.

Pros

The benefits are relatively good, but not great when compared to even Marketplace plans. People outside of DMS Sales seem to like the company.

Cons

The micromanaging! It’s a work-from-home call center environment and they have something called “Aux Time” or as some of the managers call it “AUX Hawk!!” Aux is when you have been off the phone and not taking incoming calls. Now, I am not an employee who is EVER late from breaks and I am ALWAYS on time (mostly sitting at my computer early most days!) and the managers often EMAIL to all a list of people who are off the phones, even if it’s their lunch break! Micromanaging at its worst! If you make one mistake, you’ll get written up. In the past year, we have had 4 different managers because the atmosphere is HORRIBLE! Had I known it was going to be like this, I would’ve kept my previous job! But I took the job because outwardly, in the communities we serve, Humana “seems” like a great company! They want WE employees to treat Humana Members well - but how can we do that when The Man’s foot is on our neck- waiting for us to make a mistake? If you’re thinking of coming here to work for DMS, DON’T! The DMS management is straight up Trash!

Pros

The people who make things happen at Humana are the Associate level. This organization is blessed with many dedicated, talented individuals.

Cons

The exploitation and slow-drip of exploiting Associates by slim-to no annual increases, below market salary and bonuses (as Associate levels), and limited professional development offerings. Leadership, once above a Director-level, have too many who "drink the cool-aid" from sub-par Senior Leaders. Humana lost its soul back in 2017 during the potential acquisition by Aetna.
