AEP Is Awful

Pros

Good base pay, i got to work remote and they send you everything you need. great benefits, 1 day of PTO a month, 5 sick days and 2 weeks of vacation. heath insurance was great and i only had to pay $80 a month for it

Cons

work from home hours are terrible, they lied in the interview process and assured me i would get a 8-5 when i actually started i was stuck working 2nd shift and would get stuck on enrollment calls that lasted 2 hours so i normally ended up working at least 10 hours days before AEP. during the AEP Period they want you to work 80 hours a week. My vice president Kalit would call me on my personal cell phone while i was off work asking me why i hadn’t picked up overtime and how it was my responsibility as a licensed health agent to be available to sell insurance 7 days a week. i could not keep up with the schedule, i would work 70hr weeks and my manager would tell me it wasn’t enough. the top performers at this company work over 100hrs a week during AEP that’s why they make so much money. If that’s what you want to do, definitely go for it but this job was not for me. I was chastised for not selling on certain call by my manager but i was always fully compliant and never had any issues with my quality, i should have been supported more because i really tired to be as workable and compliant with people as i could

Pros

• Remote Work — Equipment Provided • Work-Life Balance — PTO, Paid Holidays Off, Well-being Time, Weekends Off, Decent Work Hours • Learning Opportunities and Tuition Reimbursement • 401k Employer Contribution • Decent Health Insurance • Great Teamwork and Support from all levels • Potential for Bonus and Annual Incentive Program

Cons

• Somewhat unclear & misaligned expectations • The pay could be far better considering the level of complexity in job duties — although the potential for bonuses, annual raises, and annual incentives are a nice sprinkle, they aren’t paying/matching the everyday/monthly expenses that are constantly increasing. This is a good job overall and the pros are truly enjoyable and mostly outweigh the cons — But, if you are supporting yourself, and/or a family and live in an area where all costs are constantly increasing, it’d be wise to consider working an additional job, shopping at dollar stores for everything, and/or have an active side-hustle going for consistent flow of additional income if you’re considering the job.
