Pros

Helping Medicare members meet personal goals.

Cons

LifeSynch Humana Achieve Toxic work environment Low salary Added responsibility on an almost daily basis Metrics are more important than members' needs Degrading remarks from management Constant threats of termination After almost 8 years of employment, I was terminated for being accused of "not meeting their business needs". I chose to focus on my members' needs. Being terminated was a freeing experience. No more severe headaches, less chronic pain, no more anxiety, no more dirty looks from FLLs, & the depression has miraculously lifted. They are diligently firing anyone who has more than 5 years of service. Ethics have gone out the window. Established members are being ignored for the sake of more activations. They are getting rid of all Master level associates in order to hire Bachelor level people at lower salaries. All of the remaining Master level clinicians are moving to other departments or leaving the company at a rapid rate. This company needs to be investigated!

Pros

The pay is decent, but the insurance is awful. I have Humana insurance through my husband's employer because Humana's employee insurance is horrible.

Cons

The place is a mess, and I don't know how they stay in business. It's awful for the Humana members too because they spend all day being passed from one department to the next because of the lack of training. They treat their employees like cattle and they have the audacity to say that they're all about well-being and work/life balance. Yeah right!! The overtime they expect their employees to work is outrageous, and as a result employees only work work work without having time for their family. If you love overtime then come to Humana, but I bet you won't love it for long. Try 3 hours of overtime 5 days a week and see how much you love it.

Pros

It is a job with pay. 401K is generous if you can afford to fund it.

Cons

Health insurance for employees are all high deductible plans, quite unaffordable for most new hires without second household income. Most employees are afraid to take time off in fear of management targeting. I left over a year ago and am still the target of criticism and blame on weekly conference calls (at least monthly) as the reason for low plan performance - not horrible Customer Service or plan benefits designed by computers, not people. My management acted like spoiled vindictive frat boys vs insurance professionals. Medicare sales teams have NO moral compass. Medicare Customer Service less than that. Employees and Members are treated like an inconvenience of doing business. Humana knows everything and is responsible for nothing - and yet in some markets they have the lowest rated plans others, the highest. Everything negative is blamed on exiting employees and un-informed members. Positives are the wisdom of management.
