Pros

they offer 3 weeks vacation for the first year

Cons

*management openly shows favoritism *if you question management's ethics, you will be fired *management doesn't know from one day to another what is going on, what your schedule will be or how to do ANYTHING! *high deductible insurance (mine was $1600 and that was the lowest option) *if management likes you, you can sit and talk for hours, while getting paid and make all the others do the work *if management likes you, you will get a great schedule and time off whenever you need it *it doesn't matter to management if your numbers are the highest, most efficient and accurate.

Pros

Financially strong company, some very good leaderships but there is no on going training for Leadership. Promotion and raises are based on the buddy system. Company continues to make record profits and yet it is not shared with Associates or Management fairly.

Cons

Like working in a sweat shop, never enough resources to do your job. No annual performance reviews and get past over if you are not hanging out with the in crowd. Most Directors are incompetant and do not develop their Managers. Benefits and pay are bad, once you are hired raises are only given every other year and then if you get one it is from 2 to 3 %.

Pros

It does pay a little more than I would have expected for a person with no college degree.

Cons

Customer Service Representatives are given completely unrealistic goals. Everyone in my area suffered from low-esteem, blaming themselves for how they were being evaluated instead of the unfair evaluation system. The training was a joke - everyone in my department seemed to think so. The trainers had never even performed the complex job they were training! Management blames the little guy for poor performance, when in reality the CSR's live in a constant state of stress, doing everything they can to take care of the customers. I saw so many people there breaking down or nearly breaking down into tears because they were drowning in a sea of work and given no time off the phones to complete it and were offered no assistance. Really, folks. It's no way to live. I'm not normally one to be so pessimistic, or to leave online reviews like this, but I felt it was important to warn people about the hell you will enter if you accept a Humana job. Sure, it pays a little more - but it will take your soul. And eventually they will send your job overseas, lay you off, and leave you with nothing. Your job is your life - I recommend aiming for something truly rewarding. Good Luck!
