Pros

If you enjoy working with students and helping them grow, you will find moments of beautiful interactions. This is what made me join Huntington in the first place.

Cons

Be prepared to drive to shopping places and put out ground signs and have witnesses tell you that you don't have permission to put a ground sign on their property (because you don't). Be prepared to go door to door and hand out business cards and pens to restaurants and clinics. You're soliciting but it's not technically soliciting, so it's part of your monthly goal to drive around and do this. Your gas won't be reimbursed. You are underpaid. Target pays you a dollar less to fold clothes as Huntington pays you to run an entire tutoring center and handle their marketing. Owner sends emails at 9pm on Sunday (when center is closed) about work things; no boundaries. All these noted cons made another person in management leave as well. My story is not unique.

Pros

Working to help children and families reach their academic goals can be very rewarding. Meeting 1:1 with parents and really getting to know their situations and their children's needs and being able to help them was worth way more than the salary I was paid.

Cons

Management was absolutely Horrific. SOme one who knows nothing about education should never be allowed to run an education based business. In the beginning I believe the owners had their hearts in the right place but now it is all about the money and growing and opening more and more franchises for profit. They do not care about their employees and give no recognition to people that have been loyal to their mission over 20 years.
