Pros
**Flexible scheduling - Great for stay-at-home parents (like me) who desperately need PT evening hours - They'll work with you whenever possible if something comes up - They're considerate about your schedule preference and always ask ahead of time if you'd like extra hours instead of just putting you on the schedule **Decent Pay - For the work being done, the pay is decent **Keep teaching skills polished without the ordinary teaching duties - If you're a current or former teacher, you'll appreciate the fact that at HLC you don't need to plan, grade homework, nor do you have to deal with parents (unless you're an AD or Director), but you have the opportunity to stay sharp in your field of expertise (English, Science, etc.) **If you work "on the floor" and qualify to teach test prep ... - No two days are the same - You get opportunities to earn a slightly higher rate of pay for test prep **Great management - They listen - They're encouraging - They get involved with the kids
Cons
- Schedule can change often, though not always the center's fault - parents call in late or sometimes don't call in at all - Pay rate may need to adjust in the near future as cost of living rises
