Pros

In general the people are nice, and the hours are great because there's a lot of flexibility.

Cons

This company has a "mission" in a sense, but no real future for the product. The tool's main selling point of not needing an opt-in has been made obsolete by the phone carriers which means it's even harder to sell. On top of that, the quotas for sales people weren't set with any methodology. Meaning they were just set to what the CEO needs to show ownership rather than what a normal business would do which is look at their average deal size, average number of deals sold, time to close, etc. and create a realistic forecast. This doesn't happen at Hustle which means quotas are almost laughably unattainable and it's majorly detrimental to morale. Additionally, I've never seen a management team so poorly run a company in my entire career. The entirety of the executive team lacks either the understanding of how to run a SaaS business, is kept around because of tenure over skill, or is just trying to keep the CEO happy so he doesn't turn on them.

Pros

At the time, the product felt like a novel idea. Was a plus to work with progressive-leaning organizations. And because people constantly leave the company or are terminated, you can have the opportunity to work on projects outside of the role you were hired for.

Cons

Truly terrible work-life balance. Very messy onboarding. Many broken promises involving role responsibilities and compensation. If you fear losing your job, you will be gaslit. I saw multiple people who were terminated be trash talked by management after they left the company. They also told me once that a co-worker would be fired, and instead they were moved to a different role with more responsibility – truly confusing and made it difficult to work together as a team. Promises around compensation were not kept, and they are not professional or ethical when it comes to basic requests by former employees. I found that the diversity metrics Hustle touts were driven mainly by entry-level employees that had no say in the direction of the company – hopefully that has changed.

Pros

I work with some of the brightest and most kind/authentic folks that I have ever had the privilege of working with in my entire career in Tech, while building software that creates a meaningful impact in the world while empowering organizations and political candidates that are very close to my heart. I would build *anything* for Planned Parenthood and Michelle Obama!

Cons

The building that our office in has struggled with heating issues, making it quite cold at times.
