Pros

Started at Hyland a few years ago and it was the best place ever to work at. The culture was incredible and the workplace was so lively and exciting. We couldn’t wait to come in and work.

Cons

April 2023 Hyland cut 20% of their employees some of which have spent 20+ years at the company with no notice just to save some money. Not only did they make these cuts they started to outsource jobs overseas to people who don’t know how things work. Customers have been upset since this occurred and the workplace environment feels like a graveyard every time you go in. There is no energy or life left in this company and it’s a shell of what it once was and it makes me sad.

Pros

There are very intelligent, kind, and passionate people working here who still believe in the vision that Hyland initially showed them. During my tenure I was exposed to a great many systems and learned a lot and was surrounded by resources who were willing to teach so long as you put in the work, I can't thank all those enough who helped me on my journey and despite everything I am grateful for my time here.

Cons

Much of what I say will no longer apply to anyone reading this as the company is only committed to hiring contracted resources from out of the county. Because apparently even paying below industry standard is too much to ask. Hyland is in its own death spiral. As such if you somehow end up here as a non-outsourced employee, expect to watch very talented and smart people have their hopes and passions ground into dust. All the while the C-level executives tell you about the bright and strong future that lays ahead of us, while also shaking in their boots because of anything that could even remotely be considered competition has begun emerging. All because the have 0 faith in the product, and why should they? It's rapidly aging, new releases are constantly and horrifically buggy (crazy what happens when you gut your entire R&D team. The product suffers, who could have guessed that?), and the proposed solution is well behind the curve. You can watch in real time as your benefits get slashed, anything fun and enjoyable get denied. and any freedom you once had in your role get ripped out of your hands. The mission statements and values are a sham, and what was once "the place to work" in NE Ohio is now a shell of its former self and will not return. To any of those still working there I do truly feel for you and I'm sorry. But the writing is no longer on the wall anymore, its in neon flashing lights, and if the recent adjustments to benefits haven't proved that then you're delusional. Get out while you still can.
