Pros

They have a great 401k. We have lots of PTO time. Good Benefits. Nice facilities.

Cons

In January our CEO gave Propery Claims kudos while in the same breath explained it was not profitable to staff according to level of claims received during Catastrophes. In February we got hit with a TX Freeze event and we received over 5000 claims. Only a few adjusters were assigned these claims and upper management is now wondering why customer expectations haven't been met. A few weeks after the event upper management finally realized the magnitude and they engaged other areas but claims were not redistributed. We've been working almost everyday since February due to this event. Upper leadership has only continued to push and ask for more, when clearly we can't handle the caseload. We are also process heavy which slows us down . It's now June we've taken very little time and they've now said PTO cannot be taken till further notice. So although PTO is great we can't take it. We also have the added stress of testing a new system with the expectation of providing stellar service and we are being made to return to a five day work week. Upper management is also being replaced with Ex-Chubb and concerns among the staff is that we'll be treated the way we've heard the claims staff is treated at Chubb. It already feels micro managed and we imagine it'll only get worse. We are tired, overworked and under valued. Unfortunately will need to start looking and seems many others are also looking. If your looking to come to Claims and expecting something better, this is only worse.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, the Texas Freeze has been a tough event - tragic for many of our customers in Texas and a busy and stressful event for our Property Claims and Claims Support teams to manage through. We sincerely appreciate and recognize the hard work by many of our Property and Claim Support teams. In Claims, we are in the business of helping people through tough times and I certainly understand that can take a toll. Please know we are here to provide support and I encourage you to seek help from our Employee Assistance Program (EAP). To help us manage customer service and workloads, we track call volume, percent of calls to voicemail and the amount of time spent on the phone, among other metrics. As you know, we have recently provided relief on new claim volume in order to allow the teams to work through their current pending. It is our belief that managing the business for normal volumes is most effective as it allows us to commit competitive pay and benefits to our employees and not get caught in a cycle of staff ups and layoffs. On the PTO front, we have a freeze on any additional PTO requests in July during a key technology system implementation. In fact, this system will help us address your complaint about the processes being cumbersome. I understand it is an inconvenience, but no one who already had PTO planned was asked to change their plans, and PTO can resume as normal after the system implementation. In addition to the kudos and thanks we routinely share, we show appreciation for our employees in tangible ways, like our 7% 401(k) match, competitive salary, strong incentive pay, generous PTO, college loan repayment program, wellness benefit, charitable match and much more. I would be happy to discuss your concerns with you directly and encourage you to reach out to me to engage in the conversation. Sincerely, Krista Glenn, Chief Claims Officer
