Pros

Great company history, the inspires every day. IBM Research is undoubtedly the best lab for IT. Whereever you turn in IT you will see people coming from IBM bringing enormous soft and hard skills from the Big Blue. Very good talent management, easy to transfer from one job to another, due to many hub like organization clusters. Wide variety of fields you can develop yourself let that be a subject matter expert or people management. Many bottom-up initiatives getting kicked-off. Great people to work with. Once an IBMer forever and IBMer.

Cons

Average salary, low bonus, hence high attrition. Pyramid like hierarchy that hinders quick decision making and agile reaction to market forces. Lot of overhead blocking implementation of key actions and bottom-up initiatives.
