Pros

Potential for being a company that would be wonderful to work for ... if only they practiced what they preach. But, they don't.

Cons

The company management is deceptive at best, it's very hard to say that they are worthy of the pats on the back that they give themselves. What started out as a great place to work for, ended up as a path strewn by rotten meat and along they way it began to stink more and more. Management was lazy and deceptive. Rarely do they answer questions or provide guidance, and professional development is (although stated as being an important perk when the job is initially offered) is reserved for their own padded pockets. The average Joe (and Jane) is useless to them and they are treated below par. I have worked in far lesser professionally-inflated environents than ICF, have have found the managers to be far greater than these folks. While it may be attractive initially to take on a job at ICF, I would continue to keep an eye out for something better (and an eye on your ICF manager to make sure they are not stabbing in the back).

Pros

In the technology dept., they have tracks. As a senior associate, they push you to choose a track & go toward technical specialist, business development or project management. If you are interested in moving up the ladder & willing to work hard, the opportunity for growth is there. They are somewhat lenient with allowing people to telecommute. The hours are flexible. Some people roll in after 11 PM to start the business day.

Cons

This is a company that does not care about their people. Management will underbid contracts and hire incompetent developers, and then push the few people who can actually do the work to spend entire nights at the office & entire weekends in order to make the deliverable/schedule in order to save face. I have noticed that in the tech dept., more than half are here on work Visas. So they probably feel that those people are lucky to have a job, to be here in the US, and think that they will work to death because if they do not then they will have to find another sponsor to stay in this country.

Pros

The work is reasonably steady.

Cons

If your contract ends, you’re placed on the bench and forced to interview for other positions within the company (as a lateral move with no salary negotiation). They’ve been quick to capitulate to government demands under the Trump administration. They clearly don’t care about their employees in any meaningful way. Pay does not include any bonuses or profit sharing.
