Hypocrits Make Poor Employers

Pros

Potential for being a company that would be wonderful to work for ... if only they practiced what they preach. But, they don't.

Cons

The company management is deceptive at best, it's very hard to say that they are worthy of the pats on the back that they give themselves. What started out as a great place to work for, ended up as a path strewn by rotten meat and along they way it began to stink more and more. Management was lazy and deceptive. Rarely do they answer questions or provide guidance, and professional development is (although stated as being an important perk when the job is initially offered) is reserved for their own padded pockets. The average Joe (and Jane) is useless to them and they are treated below par. I have worked in far lesser professionally-inflated environents than ICF, have have found the managers to be far greater than these folks. While it may be attractive initially to take on a job at ICF, I would continue to keep an eye out for something better (and an eye on your ICF manager to make sure they are not stabbing in the back).

Pros

On-job training through projects and formal certification ICF may facilitate; smart, engaged coworkers; opportunity to work on various projects.

Cons

Everyone is overworked. Company focuses on profits and growth (through acquisition -- not organic, as they talk about) at the expense of quality. Entry-level employees are vastly underpaid and expected to leave in a few years. Lateral moves are difficult. Bonuses are non-existent to laughably small.

Pros

The people are very nice and you're treated fairly.

Cons

If you're title is associate then your review cycle is in October, everyone else is in June. They don't seem to have their eggs in order in the HR department.
