      Everyday is a different day,

      Pros

      There has been never been a day where I haven't looked forward to go to work. Everyday is different, and my team, especially my line manager are amazing to work with. Yes, it is challenging, but that's whats fun about it. IDBS have given me an amazing opportunity to progress, and clinch onto opportunities where I thought that wouldn't come around for a while, but IDBS have made my career progression leap two years ahead.

      Cons

      The company internal communications are not consistent and regular. It would be nice to have regular announcements go out, about how the company is performing, etc.

      Thanks for this feedback; career progression opportunities in small-mid sized organizations can sometimes be challenging to deliver but where an individual has a strong desire to progress and proactively identifies and embraces new opportunities, IDBS is somewhere where the learning curve can be accelerated. Your line manager clearly supports you and embraces your development. Long may it continue!

      I like coming to work!

      Pros

      Fantastic people to work with - a real team spirit has evolved within the product delivery section. You get to work with very knowledgable people (both in terms of tech & sciences) - always something interesting to learn. The work is varied and challenging, with opportunity to learn new tech (both hands on & via training/conferences). Self learning and play is supported, even if it doesn't directly contribute towards your immediate work. I enjoy coming to work and get a real sense of achievement from what I do. There are structured career development paths available (leading to both technical & management careers) and there are plenty of people at idbs that have seen their careers grow from humble beginnings - as evidenced by the fact student placements have come back to work for us after they have graduated.

      Cons

      Can sometimes be stressful based on some client engagements and around release time. Can also be intimidating for a new starter as there is a lot to learn and a lot of people doing things. Because of the compliant nature of some customers, the process around software delivery can seem a little "cumbersome", but we do successfully pass customers audits - so it works.
