Pros

Passionate people Reputable Brand Fun work environment Get your stuff done, and people won’t bother you

Cons

Similar to a lot of the industry, it’s consistently getting reduced staffing. This puts a lot of pressure on the people working here and burnout is real/common. Senior Management can have unreal expectations. Can be very cliquey, if you aren’t liked by certain people- your career will not be successful.

Pros

• Unique position in media/gaming industry with fantastic opportunities for insider access to well known game studios and entertainment industry figures. • Driven and talented editorial/design teams and generally wonderful people on a social level. • Lots of cross-team collaboration on large-scale projects • Good mid-level managers • Flexible scheduling, respectful of personal boundaries.

Cons

• Relatively low salaries given location & workload, minimal comp increases. • Corporate leadership traditionally siphons revenue to other companies. • Not enough support for Editorial/Design teams • Minimal advancement opportunities (lots of lateral title changes) • "Unlimited PTO" surprisingly limited • Typical corporate/executive failures in media (disregard for quality/relevance of sponsorships, HR protecting the company rather than employees, executive leadership ignoring editorial/ethical boundaries, etc)
