Pros

Game company, video game room, all sorts of perks working for them

Cons

Management does not know how to lead. There are all manner of 'go team' meanings but when it gets right down to running a project, they are rushed, unfocused, and uninvolved. The result is bad code. Every instance of code that I was exposed to needed a complete rewrite. The rushed disorganized manner in which they work, pretty much guarantee that bad code gets rewritten with more bad code.

Pros

Nice environment, flexibility around family needs. IGN promotes a sense of fun with a game room and movies. Corporate allows casual dress and the engineering work attracts smart people.

Cons

Pay is not spectacular, (made up for by nice environment), teams can be a little exclusive, information sharing a little weak, sometimes fastest fix promoted...and not best fix, even when have time. Problem solving can be political.

Pros

It is a great place to work at if you love video games and the entertainment industry. There are many positions that most people can fit in because of the properties that IGN owns. A majority of the employees are hard-working people but at the same time they are very relaxed and not too business minded.

Cons

Moving up is hard because positions open and close really fast. Sometimes you don't know about the possibility of advancement until its too late or someone else has already taken that spot. Communication from senior management is a bit off and they seem more worried about budgets and cutting pay than motivating employees to work harder and thank them for their work.
