Pros

Great place to learn and move on. Work with some of the most passionate and talented people in the entertainment industry.

Cons

Management is archaic and has trouble adapting with the faster paced times. Teams are not supported with the staff they need. Salaries and contract pay are not very good.

Great people and culture, little room for advancement

Pros

Great people and culture which is why most people stay so long. Everyone hangs out with each other even after hours and gets along great. Kind of like a family. One of the top companies in gaming and are doing some pretty cool things from a branding standpoint. Good name to have on your resume in Digital/Gaming.

Cons

Very little room for advancement and on the lower end for pay. Work to life balance is not that great. Depending on our lifestyle and if you have a family you can spend some late nights working with no reward or thanks in return. Management consists of people who have been there many years and they promote "their own" first. Some of the people in management are complacent and don't carry the workload. Many rounds of layoffs for a company that is consistently making money.

Pros

IGN Entertainment's work environment is very casual with a dynamic environment -- it is a great place to work if you love gaming and there are some fun perks. That being said, there are employees who are professional and maintain a strong work ethic. There are many kind and friendly people, often at the rungs below upper management.

Cons

Many managers are shockingly incompetent and pathetic. There are no apparent growth opportunities for younger employees. Though they claim that the org structure is very flat -- there is definitely a disguised hierarchy. I would say this is a horrible place to start a career. All the high caliber well-educated employees left for better jobs with robust growth opportunities. Salary is somewhat of a joke and some other employees (myself included) felt completely misled by the job descriptions and titles (even after several rounds of interviews). I understand a job description is sometimes a wish list, but it should be somewhat representative of the general nature of the position instead of completely different.
