Poor management bogs this place down

Pros

This company makes good money, and has many smart people working for it. Benefits are very, very good. I have made many friends at this place.

Cons

Management makes really bad decisions and won't admit it. You won't advance unless you're Dutch. They give low salaries but offer large bonuses, which are already determined in the minds of management long before you are awarded them. The place has gotten so political that turnover is rising quickly. If you take a job here, don't expect to work here more than 18 months, because you will either quit or be fired.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience. It’s important for us to hear what we’re doing well and where we can improve, and we’re disappointed to hear that your time at IMC was not what you expected. At IMC, our Graduate training programs are intensive, and we carefully hire people who are prepared for the challenge and sharp learning curve. We are transparent about the depth of the role throughout the application process. While we are open in owning that the initial learning curve and hours during our traineeship can be intensive, beyond this period, work/life balance is an important element of our employee experience. It’s encouraged through bonus annual leave, and our 'no face-time culture' and flexibility built on high trust with all of our staff. Our health and wellbeing program offers complimentary gym classes and clubs, and we're pleased that you appreciated the complimentary food and our office space. The work experience of our staff is hugely important to us and we would greatly appreciate the opportunity to continue this conversation, in a way that you would feel comfortable. To arrange a time to speak further, please contact Jade.Olsson@imc.com. Kind regards, IMC Team

Burnout or get fired

Pros

Few people are genuinely good. Very good Hardware and Execution performance.

Cons

Basic pricing and strategies. Privately owned with no option to invest your own money or give equity to employees so you'll never feel it's your company. Managers used to be the best engineers/traders and this doesn't necessary mean a good leader or manager. High pressure and demand to deliver a lot with high quality in short time and then they point fingers when bugs are discovered here or there. It feels like working for an immature company and in thee same time it doesn't offer similar to startups (equity/stocks, true autonomy, and full ownership). Review cycle and your bonus can easily be influenced by politics and favoritism.
