Shady business practices

Pros

They give you ESOP options which are less volatile than the market

Cons

IMEG will talk you into purchasing stock and then lay you off. I was granted shares by the previous owner. Money came from the owner to IMEG and all i had to do was match the amount to buy into the associate principal level. I was assured that if I proceeded with this, i would not be laid off. However, a couple months later, they laid me off and kept the money from the CEO It seems like extremely shady business practices. Not only did they lie, but then they wouldn't give me the shares. So basically they stole money. Also, when they acquire a company, they assure them that they will have autonomy. That is a flat out lie. They change your entire work culture, lay a ton of people off with no respect or consideration for all the years of hard work, they put into that firm before they acquired them.

Pros

• Great exposure to large, complex projects. • Opportunities to work across different disciplines and sectors. • Many smart and talented colleagues. • Flexible hybrid/remote options in some teams. • People at headquarters are solid professionals and generally mean well, but they’re often buried with other responsibilities and disconnected from local office politics and realities

Cons

• IMEG is very acquisition-driven, and not all acquisitions integrate smoothly. The local office went through an M&A, and it’s never felt the same since. Morale took a hit, and there’s still an “us vs. them” dynamic years later. • Processes and standards vary greatly between offices, leading to inconsistency and rework. • Communication from upper management can feel disconnected from day-to-day realities. • Workload can be overwhelming during peak times, and resources don’t always keep pace with project demands. • Growth opportunities can feel limited if you’re not in a good relationship with your local office leadership. • The company expects staff to perform in a seller-doer model even when the market is down, which adds stress and creates unrealistic revenue expectations for technical staff who may not be interested in business development training or networks. • Salary is way below par compared to industry standards, especially for the level of responsibility and workload expected.
