Structural in Pasadena was horrible. IMEG is going down.
Pros
Nice location and office, large corporation experience, growing by mergers and acquisitions, lot of retrofit projects
Cons
I did not have a good experience with the structural teams. They treat designers and engineers very poorly. Shouting and disrespecting employees are not uncommon even though my direct boss was fine. Structural managers are fairly young, inexperienced and scrooge, cutting corners from every aspect of your pay and the project budget yielding unreasonably intense work pressure. They never had training; that bites you a lot. A couple of arrogant phd engineers work there too; you cannot get ahead of them and grow no matter what you do. Unfair growth opportunities and project assignments within the team. Some are relatives/friends of managers and get a better pay while working on less challenging projects. The office is in a nice building with a picturesque view of freeways and mountains. That's the reason for that one star.
