Pros

Normal govt benefits - work life balance, pension, holidays off, paid vacation and awesome health insurance. On top of that you usually work with professionals in an area where law, accounting, operations and investigation merge together. Each case has the potential to be something interesting and you will audit just about every business you can think of and many you didn't know existed.

Cons

The job has changed significantly over the last five years (complexity, focus and time required) but the time allotted to complete the task is based on a job that no longer exists.
