Pros

They have great benefits, potential for growth, continuing education, you got lots of training. Overall, I had a great learning experience, I learned a lot about the rules and regulations and how to file my own tax return.

Cons

I did not like the fact that you were being watched all the time. You could not take more than five minutes in the bathroom because you had your manager looking for you. It was almost like being treated like a child, we had to sign a sheet if you had to go to the bathroom, put the time you left and the time you came back!!!

Pros

Work life balance is good. You do your 40 and you are done. The benefits are fine and the job is not super difficult, it has all been done before. It is not rocket science. I have heard this is the best entry position at the IRS.

Cons

It seems like everyone is clueless. When researching something, there is no one source to obtain information. A search using the internal system can lead you in the wrong direction because no one goes through and updates information. The work load can be tough, I am always busy but somehow, there are employees that can spend hours talking and still manage to complain that they do too much work. The training is conducted without the goal of teaching but the goal of saying something was taught. Much of the work seems that way, the focus is on going through the motions.

Pros

I like the fact that the IRS stresses work-life balance. Also, with the benefit of working flexi-place and flexi-tours, this helps to achive this balance.

Cons

Promotions can be difficult to achive depending on the area in shich you work . I think the level of educational support and training could be improved greatly, especially for those in the IT field.
