Pros
If you are a housewife or you live with your parents, it is great ( assuming that the other mate pays all the bills). I mean, some people consider a Furlough a grant vacation from work, and the layoffs are then construed as a good thing. The good thing is the Annual Leave and the Sick leave, they are very generous with this (probably because of Union pressure). The 401k (called Thrift Savings Plan) is very good too, I think that they match the first 3% of your allotted deduction.
Cons
Furlough Grand Central; lay offs is almost every department constantly if you are Seasonal. I think this does not apply to the perms.
