Good product, bad career opportunities in US

Pros

Good product, enjoyed some European culture

Cons

Founder/and senior management don't understand their marketing weakness. Pricing is not adaptive or competitive, so few recent sales in past 7 years. Very little employee training, and a work office environment that was terrible (open floor, no privacy, hard to make sales or support calls).

Pros

Great visionary product to develop knowledge of object oriented distributed systems. Fantastic opportunities to gain experience in financial services verticals, primarily insurance and banking. Some clever people and great company world wide knockoffs.

Cons

Owners of the company have very old fashioned way of thinking and running the company. Little new business coming their way, most revenue is coming from servicing the existing client base. Low salaries. If you are working as a consultant it is common to spend 210+ days a year travelling Mon-Fri. A few of my consultant colleagues left the company because of burnouts and health related issues.
