Pros
Hal Blackman is one of the biggest pros of this company and operates as a CPP, Chief People Person and moral booster. His personal touch with recognizing employees frequently and swiftly is nothing short of remarkable. To the extent it penetrates his organization is a true differentiator for IST among its competitors. The pay and benefits are pretty standard and what you might expect from an outsourcing company, although I would say the general quality of personnel is superior to others I've had to deal with on either side of the client/vendor relationship. IST relies on various pieces of software/hardware technology, albeit in need of updating that is quite innovative and functional nevertheless. Bearing in mind that respective clients will largely affect the employee experience at IST for the lion share of employees who work from client sites, the employee experience can vary greatly from site to site. IST like other outsourcing companies adapts itself to the needs of their clients. This is undoubtedly a benefit to clients and is often of benefit to IST employees.
Cons
Most jobs at IST do not have the option to work from home as the nature of most jobs IST has involve services rendered at a client facility. The employee experience can be quite inconsistent as each client account is based on negotiated terms between IST and their clients. Some of the technology can be cumbersome and isn't taking advantage of some of the latest innovations available.
