Pros

IXL is growing and adding headcount all the time. I love that as the team grows we stay a tight group of coworkers.

Cons

They are requiring us to go back in office but I am happy that it is a hybrid model.

Low pay, no raises

Pros

Co-workers and supervisors are nice. Most advanced students are a pleasure to work with.

Cons

Pay for part-timers is extremely low ($12 an hour) with no chance for a raise until two years w/ company. Required cross training means all tutors now expected to master a lot more content and entirely different teaching approaches for beginning adults and children with no increase in hourly wage base. Part-timers are excluded from all benefits except 401K. Hours limited to no more than 25 weekly so IXL won't have to pay benefits but now we are being pressured to work right up to that 25-hour mark, which is hard to do when this is a second job.
