Thanks for the feedback! Not sure if you were aware of our summer wellness campaign around healthy eating, but there have been organic fruit deliveries in both our HQ and NC locations every other week over the summer.

Pros

IXL attracts people who are dedicated to making a difference in education.

Cons

- Top management dismisses employee insight on a wide range of issues such as product design. They are also suspicious of drawing on user feedback, even on obvious needed fixes. For example, whether to come up with a scoring system that does not pointlessly frustrate students and seems to them to rank their "smartness" (seriously, the student scoring system is called a smartscore, which any educator trained in the last 40 years would roll their eyes at). - CEO shows little interest in inclusivity or encouraging diversity. At a company town hall about why the company would not share diversity statistics, he said he was primarily interested in promoting "cognitive diversity." However, there was little willingness to actually listen to other perspectives in product design. - Little input from educators into how the product should develop. This leads to strange decisions for an ed tech company, like spending years putting resources into a bad flash card site, only to drop the product entirely once it became apparent that teachers had no interest in a less functional version of Quizlet. - Sudden changes in direction have led to layoffs over the last two years.

If there is one lesson to be learned from your feedback, it is that we need to improve transparency as it relates to our strategy. Our product strategy is, in fact, based on user feedback and that feedback drives changes to our product. As with anything, there are unlimited opinions as to what the best path is but we are comfortable in the direction we are taking. Regarding our diversity statistics, I can personally say, based on my 25+ years of experience in corporate America, we have a very diverse and inclusive workforce! I'm proud to share that our leadership team at IXL is comprised of 60% women, something to be proud of in any industry!

Pros

Projects got canceled very frequently. No work to do for a long time.

Cons

No food, below average salary, and the CEO continuously change his mind to cancel big projects. All my nice colleages left the company.
