Pros

Imagetrend is a great stepping stone for software developers straight out of college. Depending on what team you're on, you're able to learn a lot pretty quickly and play with some cool technologies. Good culture with a number of younger people around you.

Cons

Management leaves a lot to be desired, particularly with the CEO Mike. He publicly berates employees just because he's upset. On top of that, the pay is substandard. There are also a number of developers that can't pull their own weight but are not reprimanded for it, so they just keep getting their free paycheck.

Pros

Non-ELT (Executive Leadership Team) management seems to run effectively, lots of room to learn new technologies, and you might get sent to various conferences. ImageTrend will help you get certifications if you so desire, and you generally have a solid say in what work you want to do.

Cons

Executive leadership is not made up of people who rightfully should be in that position. They're the people who have worked at the company the longest, and in a lot of cases, used to be developers. While this does show in house promotion, the people running a company should know HOW to run a company. This clearly falls short on so many aspects. Also, if you're upset as a developer at this company, the management blames you instead of looking at themselves. The CEO/COO are VERY well known for yelling at you to your face, calling you incompetent, and demeaning you.

Pros

ImageTrend is a great place to learn about programming in a comfortable environment where the potential to create something amazing is always lurking around the corner. You will be working on an extensive and complex product that has room for improvement. You will learn lots of different aspects of software development from planning features to building automated tests. The community and culture here was very good for learning. They hire lots of people, so your chances of getting in are good if you show up and know a thing or two about .NET, JavaScript, and SQL. Very honest company from an employee's perspective, very family friendly environment (There is a day care attached to the building). One of the most culturally comfortable places I've worked, and my co-workers agreed. That's why they stayed there.

Cons

However, I wouldn't stay at ImageTrend for long. It seems to be a mature company that has already passed the second inflection point in its S-curve of growth. Your opportunities for increased salary are going to be small. Also, you may end up spending your productive years with antiquated technologies. It's in Lakeville, which is a con to me, but maybe it's a pro to someone else ;)
