Pros

I worked with wonderful people who very much cared about me and helping me achieve my career goals. I had opportunities at Imagine Learning to grow into new roles and received all the support I needed to be successful. Wonderful company, wonderful learning programs!

Cons

I left a few months ago for another opportunity, but in the months since it seems that the company culture has shifted dramatically (which had begun to happen in the last few months I was there). It had begun to be more corporatized, which was inevitable but still sad to see.

Pros

This is one of the best companies I’ve ever worked for. As with a lot of companies today, they are going through growth changes which can result in the negativity reflected on recent reviews. However, I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to work with, and a mission that drives us to help kids. I’m treated very fairly and compensated for my hard work. The extra week between Christmas & New Year’s is great and I love that PTO is in one bucket so if I don’t need it for sick days we can use it for vacation.

Cons

Before last year you never saw a bad review on here but with growing pains and change not everyone is going to be happy about it. However, we all want to keep what made it special when it was family owned, and that is something we hope will remain. New owners Weld North want to be the largest Ed tech company in the world and they are taking steps to do that. Time will tell what that means. The only con I’ve seen is a rush to push things out out before they’re ready & a lot of changes done in a short amount of time.

Pros

Things may have changed since I was there a few years ago, but at the time they managed to create a really remarkable culture that was supportive, empowering, and creative. It's one of those places where it seemed like everyone you met really cared about the work they did and the impact that it had on the lives of the children they could serve through the company technology. Being on the sales side of things, it was fun seeing just what kind of a difference the software could make for struggling students of many kinds. Teachers often marveled at how the software helped children, especially struggling readers and ESL.

Cons

While I never experienced this directly, when the business eventually transitioned from the founders stage to control by investors ... some employees felt a bit of that great early vision was lost that made the environment so amazing. Unhealthy competition between managers vying for positions of importance crept in a bit. Hope it wasn't true. Still think they have a great product, and many good people...just not as great of an environment as their early days. Of course, that's the hard part about large growth anyway.

Thank you for your insights. We love that you get to see first-hand how our programs make a difference for teachers and students, and we’re so happy you have experienced the supportive working environment we’ve worked hard to create here at Imagine Learning. As we’ve grown from a small start-up to a company with over 500 employees, we’ve definitely experienced a lot of change. We continue to work hard to ensure each employee feels valued and respected by hiring talented, collaborative individuals and reiterating our focus on providing high-quality educational programs. Thank you for your contributions to making Imagine Learning a great place to work.
