Pros

Managers who know how to do their jobs. Culture is inclusive and fun. They do happy hours every Friday (even when we've had to be remote because of Covid) to give us a chance to unwind at the end of the week. Pushed to excel but always given the time and tools I need to get the job done. Everyone takes the time to listen and provide feedback, regardless of whether or not they are part of the task at hand. Huge focus put on wellbeing of the team. If you ever _need_ time off you can take it. It's been around the block. Launched through YCombinator with a leadership team from YouTube and Yahoo from their heyday. It's remote-first with offices in SF.

Cons

If you don't like setting your own objectives you might not like the weekly sprint workflow. If getting working on web technologies doesn't get you out of bed you might find the product less than exciting.

Pros

- The culture enforces a healthy work-life balance and has a lot of policies created to promote the well-being of employees. For example, if you're even a little sick, or if you have a personal matter to attend to, you'll be encouraged to take the day off. There is no pressure at all in asking for PTO here. - The company embraces transparency. It's absolutely possible to know everything that is happening in the company at all times just by paying attention to Slack and attending the monthly all-hands. - There is a high degree of autonomy in how you do your work - The product is rapidly evolving, creating a constant supply of new problems to solve and new processes to adapt - There are a lot of advancement opportunities. Many team members have been either promoted to leads/managers or have been moved to new roles that align with their career goals - You work with experts in frontend/backend technologies.

Cons

- If you're the type that needs to be told what to do, you may find yourself getting stuck in holding patterns - The after-work culture is pretty laid back overall, which could be a con if you were expecting a "work hard play hard" vibe

Pros

I'd never thought of a workplace being "empathetic" before I started here. The team _really_ practices blame-free postmortems. If something doesn't go as expected, the focus is _always_ on how we, as a team, can work better, I've never seen anyone try to pin something on someone else. Handled starting full-time remote employee during pandemic super well. Onboarding was very easy, and I don't feel at all disconnected from the team despite having only ever met one of them in person

Cons

global user base with fairly localized (North America) team means that some on call rotations go pretty late/early We're at that hockey-sticking point of startupland where there are some pretty normal growing pains
