Pros

I love working here, and I've never been more professionally challenged in my entire career. It's an open environment, where we all weigh in on challenges, strategy and ways to fix problems.

Cons

The pace is intense and there is ZERO chance to slack even for a day. You MUSt bring your A game every day.

Feedback is a gift, so thank you for taking the time to give it. I agree ours is a fast-paced, "deliver results" environment. I also agree maintaining our "patients first" focus is key to achieving our ambitious goals. That said, I have a renewed focus on celebrating the small wins along the way, so we stay energized and inspired. I hope you will help keep us accountable here.

Pros

Extremely bright peers make this an invigorating environment. Lots of interesting challenges to tackle, and can do, collaborative culture makes it fun to work through these thorny questions.

Cons

Lots on the boil at any one time. Managers do a good job protecting people, but the environment drives people to push themselves.

Pros

It used enough to be cliché, but in the end it’s true—it’s all about the people. To quote Leslie Knope quoting Teddy Roosevelt: “Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is a chance to work hard at work worth doing.” Best yet, if you get to do it with great people. Let’s face it, in most cases, work is where one spends the majority of their waking hours. T’is a shame not to spend those hours with talented, kind people who aim to do work that matters. At Grand Rounds, I feel I’ve found my team, and the mission I most want to pursue through our collective efforts. Other notable pros: healthy, in-all-directions communication flow; substantive female representation and leadership at all levels; a fast-paced and smart risk-tolerant environment that enables everyday progress.

Cons

As with any company at our stage and pace of growth, role clarity can be a challenge and we can shy away from establishing structure and eliminating confusion for fear it will stymie creativity and entrepreneurialism. We have some great examples of embracing a flexible environment—our SF and Reno collaboration, e.g. I’d like to see more in this area. It can be a key lever as we grow and continue to seek the best, brightest most diverse workforce the market has to offer.

Feedback is a gift, so thank you for taking the time to give it. At the heart of any successful venture is an A+ team (passion, talent, culture), and I couldn't be prouder of the Grand Rounds team and the zeal with which everyone pursues the mission. I'm glad to have you as part of it and hope you will keep bringing helpful suggestions forward. We can do always do better, and re: listening, what's that saying? "We were born with two ears and one mouth for a reason.”
