Whole Company is a Joke

Pros

Work/life balance I guess. I would say nothing at all but there is a 5 word minimum.

Cons

Indeed as a whole is a complete joke. Working for Indeed was the biggest waste of time. There is NO opportunity for growth and MAJOR lack of communication throughout the company. They preach about being #1 and providing the best opportunity for job seekers and companies looking to fill positions but in reality they do not care one bit about helping others. They will take a business's money and without alerting the business they will take down their ads for absolutely no reason and not reimburse that paying business customer...they just hope that the business doesn't notice. Indeed only allows legitimate businesses to post ads through their site and will delete/remove a company from its site if they find out otherwise. Don't get me wrong, this is a great business model and idea theoretically but Indeed does not go about this in the right ways. They do not look into any business they take down in a professional manner and get annoyed if they have to deal with a confused, angry customer wanting answers. Long story short, DO NOT WORK HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY MORALS. They have hugely questionable ethics and no morals whatsoever.

Pros

good pay, easy sell as most customers are used to the brand and the site commands very high traffic

Cons

lack of innovation, middle management in engineering and search quality is killing the company by making arbitrary decisions that hurt our customers, our relationships (partners) and is starting to get us into trouble because some practices are not compliant with labor department regulations or are anticompetitive in nature. Rest of the company is actually great to work with and for but I am worried about the future and the lack of clear leadership after founder departure

Pros

Pay, RSUs, WLB, People, Culture

Cons

I joined during a hyper-growth phase and unfortunately all these phases has done is water down the culture and introduce bad practices. What was once an agile, fast moving company has turned into a behemoth without much direction. The influx of additional people during 2018, 2021 have brought their bad practices from other organizations and without strong leadership at Indeed, has given these people free reign to run amok inside of indeed. Inflating their own titles and perform kingdom building. Indeed culture was TOO nice and SLT wouldn't put their foot down and address the problem. Instead they gave toxic people blank checks to go on hiring sprees, duplicating efforts and teams in the process. Some parts of the company are extremely slow moving. I'm talking 1+ month to add a button to a UI. It's laughable it takes that long but I'm not joking. Indeed had a competitive edge at one point, they squandered that lead and now other startups are coming to eat their lunch. I give Indeed 5-10 before they go the way of Monster.com
