      Committed to Employees During the Pandemic

      Pros

      As a career changer coming from academia, I was wary of moving into the corporate world -- you hear lots of horror stories -- but I have always been pleasantly surprised by IBX. During the pandemic, though, they really have gone above and beyond. They gave us days off and a cash bonus to help ease the hard, early months at home. They immediately pivoted the content of their employee survey to figure out what our needs and wants were for true support, and they invested hard: seminars on work life balance, live exercise and cooking classes to help us stay healthy at home, a free meditation app, tons of flexibility for those doing caregiving labor, and temporary leave policies that reflected our current situation. I was very relieved to be working for IBX this year.

      Cons

      Ultimately, the diversity policies are not what they should be -- lots and lots of them are more skin deep than anything else. But I don't know if you CAN get better than that anywhere else.
