      Great benefits, great people, support system (at least when I started 14 years ago) and community outreach.

      Micro management and deception. Trust issues between management and staff.

      Pros

      Independence offers growth opportunities and is a place you can make a career. The collaborative environment allows for employees to move around within the company. The leadership team is focused on improving customer experience and remaining a leader in the insurance industry. A big plus is the flexibility most areas have for work arrangements & schedules, as well as the company's involvement in the community.

      Cons

      As with most large organizations, politics can be difficult to navigate at times. The culture of "this is how we've always done things" is being challenged by current leaders, but has been a concern over the years when trying to drive change.
