Pros

Opportunity if you look for it.

Cons

You have be really self motivated in order to make things happen. Thins can take a long time to get done. Workalike Balance is up to you. It can be easy to take work home but if you are firm you can manage to keep a balance.

Pros

(1) Meaningful work. The work you do (especially in customer service) involves helping people in need and giving people information. For someone who likes serving others, this position is very fulfilling. (2) Pay, benefits, and perks are pretty good. The pay is ABOVE a lot of local businesses within the Philadelphia area, but BELOW a lot of the competitor insurance companies from what I've heard. There are a lot of perks such as a yearly bonus depending on your performance as well as the company's performance. Also, free movie ticket giveaways, discounted theme park and attraction tickets, yearly free zoo event, discounted phone bill; there are a lot of extra perks. 401K Match up to 3% for a combined company contribution of 6%. Good stuff. (3) People here are super friendly and it doesn't take long to form a family. (4) Management is getting closer to hourly employees, which is great.

Cons

There are a lot of changes going on in the company resulting in: (1) A higher workload that makes you question your pay sometimes (2) The type of work combined with the regulations and penalties for making errors can create a VERY stressful work environment. (3) Mandatory overtime is great at first, but will wear you down (4) Monotony. Customer service here is great. But beware that after a few years, the routine of the work may become a downer. (5) Gossip is rampant. Make sure you keep your business to yourself and your personal life off the floor as it only takes one person to spread your information all over your department. (6) Promotions and hiring can be very political. Nepotism at its finest (as within most large companies). If you want to get places, good performance and brown-nosing will get you far.
