Pros

Some coworkers are cool, I guess? The time off policy is somewhat generous but gets annoying when management is always absent.

Cons

Incredible wage gap between executives and employees. Every day, you feel like it is your last day at work. Layoffs are rampant. Upper management pushed for a 'voluntary' furlough for the lesser paid employees. HR doesn't know what they're doing. Almost the entire team was replaced while I was here. Management is very disconnected and offers the bare minimum in benefits or incentives to work here. Executive team is all white, and although they claim diversity is abundant, it is absent in positions of power. Overall, this place is the textbook example of the phrase "boss makes a dollar, I make a dime. that poem was from a simpler time. now my boss makes 1000 while I make a cent, and he's got employees who can't pay the rent". If you're a regular employee, you get like a 5-10% salary bonus at the end of the year, so approx. 5-7k. The higher you go up the management ladder, the more of a bonus you get. I believe the executives get at least 25-40% of their salary as a bonus, which is probably more than what some employees make in an entire year.

Pros

Good pay, benefits way above market, some good people.

Cons

This company has absolutely zero direction and no clear sense of what industry and market they even want to be in. Total lack of leadership and never forthcoming with how the company even actually makes money (spoiler alert: they don't). Good luck making it actually go public which they have been saying "it's happening any day now!" for over 2 years. No job security, leadership can't make a decision to save their life, and just an overall toxic work environment. Turnover is at an all-time high. Don't work here- beware.

Misleading, Disjointed

Pros

Interesting ideas. Trying to do something good.

Cons

Toxic work culture. Lack of execution. Quality is the last priority, and it shows with time. Customers do not return. Products do not last more than a year, if six months. The majority of the original team, original business units, original connection to the missions is all gone. I can speak most directly about the microbial products since that is the group I worked with. An embarrassing mess. Poor management, organization, handling of the science that makes me sad, full of pain, disappointed. A problem is the some of the people are really good, or have good resumes, that would make you think they would do better. However it is chaotic and a bad work environment. Cut the data to look good, skip corners, who cares about contamination, product out the door at all cost. If you come from a good background and want to feel gaslit, come work here. The microbiology/ R&D, "Quality", Manufacturing business unit is a mess - stay away.
