Terrible to work for

Pros

-good starting pay - flexibility from remote work

Cons

This company has been a nightmare to work for and is definitely not saving the world with their questionable data -consistent mass layoffs that leave huge holes in teams - they will then transfer work to anyone left, whether they're qualified or not -sketchy verification of data because they regularly fire the employees with actual ag knowledge (or move them into sales roles..?) -company has changed direction so many times that any project you're on will probably never get anywhere -roles will be changed countless times to fill holes left by people leaving and raises are rare --was up for one and then 'laterally moved' without discussion because someone quit and I was disqualified for the raise even though the work I do now requires significantly more skill

Pros

They paid well, and I gained a lot of experience that will be valuable moving forward in my career. There were a lot of opportunities to work on projects and contribute.

Cons

In 2 years, they laid off 80-100 people around February-March of each year. There was no indication that the layoffs were going to occur either time. As you can imagine, that created a terrible company culture. Also, the majority of the customers seemed to hate working with Indigo which made working in Customer Operations quite draining. Indigo is trying to bring technology into agriculture, and as you might imagine, many farmers have no interest in technology. It's an old-fashioned industry.

Pros

Good pay, nice office, good benefits

Cons

The Marketplace for grain sales has a bad reputation nationally with farmers. Large grain elevators often view Indigo as competition and do not work well with Indigo employees. Many people have involvement with sales processes and account management leading to slow payments and confusion. C-suite has a demonstrated detachment from ground level, zero of them live in Memphis where the commercial headquarters is located.
