Pros

1. Does wonders for your resume! Infosys brand has a lot of respect within India 2. People are encouraged to speak up and take up leadership roles within teams 3. Lots of opportunities to grow in field, by teaching, mentoring, taking up eclasses, doing Infosys brand of certifications(mandatory however, which drags down its utility!) 4. If you happen to be in a BU that has onsite opportunities, they are known to be better paymasters when you go onsite. Offshore pay is somewhat competitive amongst the service outsourcing based companies like TCS, Wipro, HCL 5. Quality of people at Infosys can be(like most places) ranging from guru level to "just getting by(jgb)". However, there were more gurus to jgbs than any other place that Ive worked at. 6. Developers at the company are on average very young(1-2 years out of college). Which means there is a lot of enthusiasm, and it can be a fun place to work. The mid level managerial staff also tend to come from this same pool, so they can be fun and inspiring people to work for. 7. Overall good place to work

Cons

1. Huge number of "performace improvement" or some other management jargon filled "initiatives". Its hard to make sense of it all and harder still to see some overall vision in all these initiatives atleast at the developer level. 2. One HR practice is to make taking certifications every year mandatory. Infact it is a must do in order to get the revered A review(which impacts salary increments). This is an example of a practice overreaching its utility. When something becomes mandatory, naturally, there is very little sincerety in "learning" for the certification. Its something you have to get through and pass the usually multiple choice exams most likely on the last possible day of the review cycle. 3. Churn level can be high, needing a lot of KTs within teams 4. Offshore salary can be stagnant 5. Everything from salary increments, to certification paths just seems to have a lot of detail and need a lot of time invested in understanding and tracking. Whatever happened to the KISS (Keep it Simple Stupid) principle?
