Pros

Great company, great people, very motivated, very energetic. Infosys has a great campus in Bangalore and many other offshore locations.

Cons

After a while, at senior levels, opportunities are less transparent, and you probably need to be in Bangalore to grow higher. Territorialism has set in, working between groups is getting difficult.

Pros

Offshoring model provides low cost value to clients. Great colleagues. Fortune 500 clients.

Cons

Commoditized services. Lack of training and methodology. Lack of people and practice development. Poor benefits: lack of 401K and matching, low compensationcompared to IBM, Accenture, etc, low or no bonus. Rehashed and recycled IP from non-Infosys sources (lack of innovation). No onboarding support. Lack of visibility to senior leadership. Redundancy of offerings across practices; often compete against each other or Infosys Technologies on same proposals. Consulting engagements are more staff augmentation opportunities. Relationships are low on the value chain for clients. Work is primarily with lower and middle management clients.

Pros

Infosys was a great opportunity for a recent college grad. They are a big company and I ended up spending 6 months in a very nice campus in India, and this was an amazing experience that I'd recommend to any post-college job seeker. Pay and benefits were comparable to other job offers I had received, and way higher then the averages for liberal arts majors who also were hired on for their training program. The company has vast resources and well stocked information libraries and references. It is a good name to have under your belt and it is certainly an international experience.

Cons

Infosys is plagued with bureaucracy. Because it is a large company, one often feels like a number rather than a person. All too often, coworkers do not recognize the difference between knowing something and knowing of something. Even though my position was Software Engineer after the initial training I would be placed in a business analyst role. This is not what I went to school for and there is little room for non Indians to practice their technical skills. Having history, business, and com majors fill the same position as CS grads and calling them all software engineers is slightly demoralizing from a bachelor of Science's perspective. There is no guaranteeyou will be assigned to your preferred office when returning to the USA
