      Living in the local area wasn't great- you'd need to commute for the best experience. Didn't have support in finding accommodation through my university or the company HR dept.

      Pros

      Nice friendly atmosphere, plenty of opportunity to contribute towards the development of new techniques and research strategies. Managers listen to research staff, lots of freedom to explore new ideas. Good work life balance, the company cares about its staff.

      Cons

      The pace of work can be a bit slow, they're keen to make improvements and adopt new methods and technologies. People are unwilling to change the way they do things. Although that probably goes for most large companies.
