Pay was low for the industry

Bad if you are not in the circle. The newly appointed ELT and SLT have fostered a culture of nepotism, hiring inexperienced friends into key positions. Their practices diverge significantly from industry standards, and while they often talk a great deal, their actual delivery has been minimal. Unfortunately, they tend to shift blame onto colleagues outside their inner circle. Despite lacking effective management skills, they excel at navigating office politics to further their personal interests.
