Decent pay and benefits. Technically knowledgeable coworkers.

Cons

My manager was a disrespectful micro-manager, who did not support his direct reports, instead shouting at them on occasion and pointing out every fault. He ran the department by the seat of his pants, without proper structure or documentation, guaranteeing repeated fire-fighting of the same recurring issues. Google for a list of the twenty worst things a manager can do. My manager checked three-quarters of of the boxes. The company's actual culture did not closely match its stated values.

Pros

The pay is decent, the workload is light, and we have been remote since Covid, generally like my coworkers and the work.

Cons

Promotions and raises are not as frequent as they should be, efforts often go unappreciated and unrecognized. Leadership is constantly shifting strategies and it's pointless to try to keep up with the latest jargon.
